Why Local Partners Are Important?

Often times, the library community comes together to find a solution to a problem facing our libraries. As we develop a plan, we do not take into consideration the role of other sectors to put the plan into motion. Realizing the value of multiple sectors being part of the solution, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation encouraged us to invite local partners to join each library director.

Local partners are making funding decisions for the library, advocating for improved technology needs and supporting library applications. It is imperative that all local partners know the value and need for broadband in our public libraries. We also need their ideas as we develop a connectivity and sustainability solution. Local partners are important to the success for the Opportunity Online Broadband Summit.
